Since 2004, VOLiSports has been covering local high school sports in Montgomery County and expanded into Prince Georges County over the years. Over the summer we failed to secure the sponsors needed to continue our broadcast.
We hope to find new sponsors so we can continue to broadcast games in the future. However at this time, we have no choice but to shut production down.
We wish all the Coaches and Players the best 2012 season.
We would like to thank many people for the help we received over the years to bring great sports coverage to your homes.
We would especially like to thanks the Athletic Department Heads, Our Announcers, Our Production Staff, Athletic Directors, Coaches and Players for the amazing opportunity we have had for many years.
For Bullis going into the Championship game, they had to feel pretty good. They beat Georgetown Prep, Landon and St. Stephens/St. Agnes. The only factor they did not have on their side was the experience of playing in a big game. Landon scored early, often and controlled the game. Other than a couple of laser’s from Bellistri – Bullis was no threat.
The game will begin airing tomorrow 5/16/2012 on Verizon FiOS 1. Continue to check the FiOS 1 schedule for further replay times.
Due to a rain postponement of the WCAC Championship – we jumped at a chance to cover two of the top teams in Montgomery County. So we headed over to Churchill High School during a monsoon to get ready to cover a game we expected to be close between two bitter rivals. The faucet of rain turned off for this matchup. Churchill took early control of the game with a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. Wootton did not roll over – they fought back to keep the game close.
The Bulldogs will move on to face the Sherwood Warriors on 5/16/2012. Sherwood beat WJ in double overtime to sweep the series with the Wildcats this year. Sherwood won all three games against the Wildcats. Mike Crooks scored the winning goal in the second overtime.
Best of Luck to Churchill and Sherwood – we hope one of you go on to win the State Championship this year.
To Watch the Full Coverage on FiOS 1 – keep checking the program guide in the coming week.
It was a great game by two very good Montgomery County Schools. WJ and Sherwood have very respectable records this year and the last time these two teams played Sherwood won 9-4.
Last night it was WJ that controlled the game leading the whole way, but Sherwood continued to keep the game close. In the 4th quarter, Sherwood gained control of the game. They broke a 6-6 tie with a goal and never looked back…
See the Game This Coming Weekend 5/5/2012 on Verizon ON Demand and check your FiOS 1 Guide for broadcast times in the DMV.
If you beat Landon and Georgetown Prep along with everyone else you play does that mean your the best the DMV area?
I think so.
When we scheduled Good Counsel vs Gonzaga at the beginning of the year – we expected a pretty good game. We did not expect to have such a lopsided game. Gonzaga played a little sloppy, Good Counsel was very scrappy and caused a lot of turnovers, but Gonzaga won very easily 14-2.
We didn’t get what we expected to see from the talk before the game. What was supposed to work out as a low scoring ball control game turned into a scoring feast. Churchill just scored more… Watch the Game on Verizon FiOS 1 and Verizon OnDemand.
Man it was cold yesterday at Georgetown Prep. Felt more like football weather than lacrosse. All the balls bounced the Bears way. Landon scored early and never looked back. Lets hope we see these two teams match up again on a nice day for the IAC Championships in May.
