Damascus Shocks Sherwood

Sherwood at home and 6-0 did not expect to lose to a Division 3 team.  Damascus with their backs against the wall with 2 losses in a competitive Division pulled off a huge upset.  Here are the highlights of the game.  We will be broadcasting the game on MCPS Channel 33 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm.  We are also on FiOS  1 and on FiOS On-Demand.

1. Quince Orchard – Escaped Defeat Again

• Should beat a Solid Einstein Team this Week Easily

2. Sherwood – Just Compiling Win after Win

• Should Beat Damascus in the Return of Brian Lucas to Sandy Springs

3. Whitman – Winning Thru Adversity – Is Making Them Stronger

• Should Have an Easy Day at Gaithersburg

4. Churchill – Are These Guys for Real?

• Good Test – Rematch of last years playoff game – Should Win again if they are for real.

5. Paint Branch – Be Ready to Play if you Take These Guys on…

• Get that Second team some playing time against RM

6. Clarksburg – These Guys Are for Real -  But a Loss Took Them Down a Notch

• Nice Rebound Game after a tough loss – Get that Second and Third Team some playing time.

7. Seneca Valley – Getting Better Week by Week – Developing a Great Passing Game

• A Good team to work on that passing game this week and also work on trying to shut down a tough Blake Running Game.

8. Damascus – Lets See How They Do against Sherwood to Move Them Up the Ranks

• Damascus Needs this Win – It Could Happen if they play a perfect game.

9. Springbrook -  Very Good Teams But 2 Losses Take them down the Poll

• Could Be a Trap Game. Watch out for Magruder they are tough.

10. Magruder -  Solid Team – We were expecting them to Beat Churchill – Didnt Happen

• Win and Move Up the Poll…

Honorable Mention:  Rockville.  They Just Keep Winning.  Lets hope they go far in the playoffs.

Here is an article on one of Montgomery County’s best players.

Michael Nittoli is a baller for Good Counsel.  We dont get to see him on the Game of the Week since we focus on MCPS schools, but we keep our eye on this guy.

Northwood: Hessler Hoping for Different Results This Week

This week Im sure Jimmy will be looking for less INT’s and better field position against Rockville.

Rockville is undefeated and looking to stay that way.  They have a talented  RB Crusoe Gongbay who ran for 167 yards on 31 carriers on a muddy track.   The Gazette has a full article on there past game against Poolesville:
