ABOUT VOLi SPORTS
HISTORY:

VOLiSports.com (VS) is a division of Video On Location Inc. (VOLi) that is dedicated to covering high school sports. VS started covering a Game of the Week back 2005. We began covering a Boys Football game and Girls (Volleyball, Field Hockey and Soccer) game each week and our broadcast was viewed on Monday Nights on Public Access TV. Starting in the Fall of 2008, we have our broadcast on MCPS Channel 33.

Each year we have added new technology and we have covered more and more games. We cover the games with multiple camera’s, we have announcers for most games, we have replays, graphics and post game interviews. VS only covered Fall sports in 2005, now we cover games in Winter (Basketball) and Spring (Lacrosse).

The coverage of these games are a community effort and we are fortunate to partner in the program with Cable Companies, Newspapers, Banks, Car Dealerships, Car Supplies Suppliers, Music Equipment providers and restaurants.

The coverage of these games highlights our local athletes in a positive way and provides an opportunity for the community to see these athletes perform. We do not broadcast these games live, because we do not want to hinder fans from attending games in person. If anything we want to promote athletes to intrigue more participation at the event.

We look forward to seeing more and more athletes excel, more community involvement and more growth in the effort.

FAQ:
Q. How do you pick the Games of the Week?

A. We work with the Athletic Department at MCPS to schedule as many different schools as possible in a season and we hope to at least cover each school at least once in a season with boys and girls games.

Q. How does VS help create a DVD demo for college recruiting?

A.We help by sometimes working with parents to share costs in covering games for a certain sport to have the best possible footage available. We then can use our video or video provided by coaches and parents to edit together a highlight reel for a certain player. If needed we can highlight a player on the video if its needed to help a coach identify a player. We add contact info and a full or half game to a dvd to provide coaches at the next level with a resume to help in the recruiting process. Finally we make professional looking copies of the DVD to highlight important info and provide an overall professional appearance for the DVD.

Q. Does VS need any extra help at events?

A.We are always looking for more volunteers in our effort. If you want to get involved please contact us.
